New suspense novel released by Publish America.

(PRWEB) March 15, 2004--Niceville:Former County Administrator Ellen Holt, has just released her first novel published by Publish America of Frederick, MD. Ms Holt was Okaloosa County, FL Administrator from 1989 to 1993 and Executive Director of Okaloosa Community Development Corporation from 1993 to 1996. During that time she was actively involved in the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Board of Directors of Okaloosa Walton Child Care Services and Horizons of Okaloosa County.

Ms Holts novel, Perfect Ending, is a romantic suspense novel set in the Destin, FL area and involves politics, the military, murder and a hurricane. The lead character, Sara McCartney, leaves her Washington, DC job as a legislative assistant to run the Florida state senate campaign of Mitch Knight. What she thought would be a nice vacation from the rigors of life in DC becomes a fight for her life and a test of her courage. Lucas James, a man Sara finds herself attracted to, could be involved in a plot to move the weapons testing mission at Eglin Air Force Base to California, by pushing the state to allow offshore drilling. This would amount to encroaching on the test range in the gulf, giving the Air Force a reason to move west. These actions could devastate the local economy, but could also make a few people extremely rich. Just when Sara thinks she has it all figured out, Hurricane Jesse begins its march to the northern gulf coast.

Ellen Holt grew up at the shore in New Jersey and in the suburbs of Chicago. She got her start in writing by working as an editorial assistant for the Chicago Daily News and the Asbury Park (NJ) Press. While moving around the country with her husband John, an Air Force Officer, and their two children Amy and Ryan, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Masters of Humanities from Wright State University. The family settled in Niceville, FL in 1988.
