Just About Books Internet Radio Talk Show Announces the Winner of the Book Award for Best Fiction - Cheryl's Choice for 2006

(PRWeb) December 31, 2006 -- The Enigma of Njama by Anthony D. Wilbon was honored as winner of the annual Book Award for Best Fiction-Cheryl's Choice, which was announced Saturday, December 23.

The Enigma of Njama is the story of Professor Montgomery Quinn, who is entangled in a web of mystery as he struggles to keep his life in tact, while taking on the underground power of Washington, D.C. It begins with Montgomery's friend handing him a thumb drive with an elaborate software code stolen from his wife. The friend goes to investigate the wife's perceived transgression, only to end up comatose after a car accident.

Distraught, Montgomery curiously delves into the software and discovers her involvement in a "secret" society of African American women, the Njama, and soon realizes that they will do anything to preserve their clandestine operation. Quickly, Montgomery's life mysteriously spirals out of control, until he receives help from a covert source.

In a frantic race against time, Montgomery and his accomplices find themselves matching wits with a powerful group of well-connected women. With his life crumbling and the net tightening around him, he has a choice. He can fight back and lose everything or he can try to unravel the Enigma of Njama.

Suspense, fear and tension keep the reader glued to the pages for a well-plotted high tech tale. Wilbon shows masterful skills in weaving an intricate plot that is of interest to readers of all genders and all ages. This is Anthony's first award for his debut novel.

Anthony Wilbon is currently a professor in the information systems department at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. After more than fifteen years in several high tech and consulting firms, and having always been an avid reader, he knew that he would one day publish a novel. He is currently working on his next novel, Parallel Redemption, another mystery suspense. However, Anthony says that for his third novel, he may just write a sequel to The Enigma of Njama.

This award is one of the few awards presented by Talk Shows that recognize quality as an increasingly important area of African American author's contributions to a book lover's world. This year's winner is off to an excellent start with exceptionally well-written material and we are hoping that other African American authors will follow in his footsteps. Each year, the winner will receive an engraved glass trophy and the award will continue as part of the Just About Books Talk Show's Annual recognition of African American authors.
